Architecting ideas.
Engineering reality.
We are a product incubator building high-performance software that turns complex data into clear, fast decisions.
The Origins
Columen Labs is a product studio based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We build software tools for people who work with complex data and need to make decisions faster.
The company was founded in 2026 by a small team of engineers who spent years building data infrastructure at scale. We saw the same pattern everywhere: smart people stuck waiting on slow tools, cobbling together spreadsheets and scripts to answer questions that should take seconds.
So we started building.

How We Build
Every product starts small.
A single query. A tighter backtest. A faster decision.
01
Start Precise
Every product solves one specific, painful problem. Clarity before coverage.
02
Make It Indispensable
We don’t move on until the first layer is something people can’t imagine working without.
03
Build the Next Layer
Each new capability multiplies the value of everything that came before it.
04
Ship With Intent
No bloat. No noise. Every feature earns its place by making the whole system smarter.
Engineers who
got tired of waiting.
We're a small team of engineers in the Bay Area. We've built data systems, trading platforms, and developer tools at companies you've heard of. Now we're building our own.
Bikram
Manager
Keeps the team moving, the vision clear, and the strategy sharp.
Upa
Engineer
Turns complex problems into clean, elegant code that compounds.
Lochana
Design
Crafts interfaces that feel effortless and look unmistakably intentional.

The Compounding Thesis
Most software companies think in features. We think in layers. A layer solves one problem AND makes every other layer more useful.

Why We Built EdgeDesk
Most options trading tools are built for professionals. But most people who trade options aren’t professionals.
